The time has come for me to paint the boy's bedrooms. They were the only rooms in the house that we didn't have painted before we moved in. I wasn't sure what I wanted to do, so I thought I'd do it myself. Well, 17 months later and many questions of "Mom, when are you going to paint my room"....here goes.
My first swipe...
Cutting in, or whatever that darn technique is called. I'm not good at it.
Thankfully, I have a support team. Brenda does this professionally, and couldn't stand to watch my attempts so took over for a while. And Melissa is VERY TALENTED at holding brushes and trays.
Now, I was at it for 6 hours yesterday (including Brenda's time) and I have one room 1/2 done. So I may be at this a while. I don't know how you Magill girls get a whole freagin' house done in 3 hours.
Ted got two box tickets to the UW Badger hockey game. Will got to go to a UW Football game with us this fall, so it was Kaleb's turn (I didn't know it was a BOX when Ted asked if he should bring Kaleb!! Oh well. We have a date tonight....)
When I asked Kaleb what was the best part, he said, "MEETING BUCKY!" Cool! Ted said Kaleb was glued to the game, while as usual, Ted was busy socializing. That's my boy!
My Dad and Judy's gift to us is a trip to the Wilderness. It's always so much fun!
The boys trying to out-muscle each other
Bathing-beauty five-year olds
Winding down on the last day
We have as much fun in the condo as we do at the parks. Here we are trying to hold the plank position against Mindy's three teenage daughters. Not that it matters, but I did win....
As per custom, we rang in the new year in Elkhorn. What did the night consist of?
The biggest boys played cards. And howled with laughter several times. The big boys wrestled. With their shirts off, of course. The littles were obviously missing kindy on this very long winter break, so they elected to play school. Scholars!
You don't need a picture of the ladies....chat, chat, laugh, chat! Everyone made it to the new year. About an hour after going to bed (in our very DEAR friends guest room), Kaleb ERUPTED like no other. All over their carpet, himself, his sleeping bag, and Ted's overnight bag. We spent an hour trying to clean up. Sorry, G's!! HAPPY NEW YEAR. Ughhh.
This month, my kid-date was with Anna ("but not the kissy-kind of date, right Mom?") At Daddy's suggestion, we went and got our nails done... Kaleb and Ted went ice-skating, and Will is sleeping at Grammy's...
