Party in the 'hood

Another really hard part of moving is leaving "The Alderhood" (and honorary memebers!) From sprinkler runs, Friday evenings in the driveways, pick-up games at Sunset, and endless sledding days, it's been a fabulous place to live.

A great "see-you-not-as-much" party with dear friends -- Thanks, guys! We love you!

Our First Sports Tourney

So as I've said, we're not a huge baseball family, but Will had a fantastic experience this summer, with a wonderful coach and great teammates. We experienced our first sports tournament, which was a long but exciting weekend, where Will's team took third.
EVERYONE loved listening to this coach! (Will is standing, Kaleb's on his scooter, Anna's next to him, and Ted's got a hat on)

Will "Bob" and Kyle "Jim" (and crazy Kaleb)

Now this girl isn't part of the team, but she's got game!

The Farewells have started....

Good friends from church hosted an open house for us....our first formal goodbye. :( We have been soooooo blessed at SLEFC, it will be one of the hardest parts of moving.

Who's that lady in the back?

The moms are used to sitting at the kid's table....

THANK YOU OUR CHURCH FAMILY! We love you!

Summer fun

Here are some recent pictures of my favorite subjects!

Here are my swimmers, and their jr mascot, Tyler (Heather's son)
Our trip to the zoo

I told you we liked to swim! One of our trips to the pool, where we ran into the Barlows (Ted's cousin who bought our house).

Great summer fun!

Our week in review...

Sorry I don't have pictures, but it doesn't help when I drop my digital camera!! Ted has always been into extended warranties, and this time it paid off because it is being repaired for free as we speak. We've had a great week--Ted took off Thurs and Fri so we've enjoyed some great family time.

Will had a baseball game on Monday (it's finally real baseball, the kids pitch to each other and everything! We are more of a soccer family, but I've really enjoyed learning the game along with Will!). The guys are also in "Upward Soccer" through a local church and it's a league that emphasizes teamwork and sportsmanship, rather than winning--how refreshing! Since Ted and I both coached their "club" teams this year, we need to remember the focus of this league.

Then, there's swimming. We spent three days at our community pool, where we pay a whopping $70 for our family to go all summer. Gotta love small towns! Anyhow, Ted spent LOTS of time doing "extreme" diving off of their boards. His abdominals were so sore he had to forgo his regular Sunday morning bike ride. Will is following in his footsteps and they took a 12 mile ride together Fri morning. We then went up to check out the new house--drywalling is done and painting has begun (not by us!) Hopefully we'll have some pictures soon.

Thanks for stopping by and catching up with us!

We've started a blog!!

Well, EVERYONE is doing it, so so are we! Here is the first attempt. We've had a VERY busy June! Here's a recap:

Heather, Peter and Tyler were back in the states! Heather and Tyler leave this week so we've been able to enjoy some extended, relaxing time, including lots of swimming and a trip to the zoo.

Bob and his #2 son (Ben) came back for a quick visit for Yaya Jen's 85th b-day.

Noah's Ark with Grammy before she left for Europe for three weeks.

Ted and Kassy's 20th high school class reunion that Kassy spent A LOT of time on, and Ted was her technical support staff. It was great to see many old friends. Our good friend Gabby and her three kids stayed with us and we had a fabulous time!

Will and Kaleb are both in Baseball, Soccer and swimming lessons. Even Anna has started soccer and was sure she needed cleats and shin pads for those instructional sessions. She starts swimming lessons next week. Yes, I know I'M CRAZY. So much for my rule of one sport per-season per-kid.

And, oh yeah, we are building a house! Which should be ready pretty soon.....Ted thinks our move will be about the second weekend in August. This project has gone much quicker than the house that Ted and his Uncle Breck built on nights and weekends! The builder has been moving faster than we've been making decisions, so lately we've spent lots of time at Lowe's, Home Depot and doing drive-bys of possible stone selections. We'll be there before we know it so we're enjoying our last weeks here.

I hear posts are huge. So how'd I do?
